Pre-Procedure Information
(a must-read prior to appointment)

All procedures begin only after exact placement and color tones are thoroughly discussed and displayed. Sessions are booked out for 1-2 hours per procedure and can include the consultation appointment if desired. This is cosmetic tattooing also known as "micropigmentation." The uses of extremely effective topical anesthetics are used throughout procedures making for a mostly (sometimes completely) painless experience overall. Be prepared for the color of your work to be 30 - 70% darker or brighter than what will be in the next 4-5 days, during which time, excess pigment will slowly slough off along with your skins natural cell turnover. There is no "scabbing" afterwards. It is advisable to have a day or two without any high profile appointments where you may be overly concerned about your appearance.

Delicate skin may bruise, but normal skin can expect the following results:

Eyebrows: Slight swelling and/or redness for the first few hours only. There is no discomfort following the appointment. Be prepared for your brows to look darker than they will in 4-5 days. (Wearing a darker lipstick shade can help offset the darker brows.) You will be instructed to keep a small amount of A&D ointment on the area, which protects, and keeps the area attractive and comfortable.

Eyeliner: Most all clients have no sensation of discomfort due to my effective numbing techniques. Slight swelling – possible redness initially, tender to the touch, no discomfort following. Expect to look as though you have had a good cry the following morning, after which swelling begins to subside and return to normal by the next day. You will be instructed to use lubricating eye drops and/or A&D ointment for 4-5 days, which protects, and keeps the area attractive and comfortable.

Lipcolor:: Very Important: Due to simple trauma to the lip tissue, a cold sore outbreak is highly likely only for those who have ever experienced a cold sore - EVER. This is simply dealt with by obtaining proper preventative medication from your doctor. Recommended is Valtrex, which will greatly reduce and usually eliminate the chance of an outbreak. (Begin a daily regular dose prescribed for actual outbreaks – approx. 1000 mg a day – starting 1-2 days prior to your session. Continue taking this for a total of 4-5 days. It is recommended to request a 7-day supply if you are prone to cold sores. Over-the-counter Lysine, an amino acid, is also advisable as a preventative. Please be well hydrated when you arrive.

Most women LOVE their newly completed lips, as they are puffy and "lipsticky" looking. Expect initial swelling for 2 days. Your lips will feel chapped within a day or two of treatment. During this time regular Vaseline treatments will keep lips comfortable and attractive. Remember to eat a good meal and brush/floss prior to appointment. Plan to avoid both spicy and hard to eat foods like corn-on-the-cob and burritos for a couple of days.

Achieving full lip color is a process and may require up to 2 touch-up appointments depending of the fullness of the lip.

Camouflage & Scalp Pigmentation: Individual consultation appointments are necessary to learn more.

Touch-Ups: My work leans toward the conservative side, as it is always easier to "add" color or a stroke at a 'touch-up' appointment. Approximately 75% of cosmetic procedures require a "touch-up" appointment, scheduled no sooner than 4-6 weeks after your initial visit. For example, you may decide you would like to see a brighter or deeper lip color or a fuller brow. This is also the time at which "hair strokes" are added over the initial brow "shadow" color. A return visit is welcome anytime and I can help you determine your touch-up needs.
